Dr. Baunoch is a native of the Port Huron area. He graduated from Port Huron Northern in 1968 and attended SC4 before moving to Chicago. Dr. Baunoch has more than 40 years of ordained ministry experience inclusive of professional psychological care and counseling, laity training, clergy support, and grief and addictions counseling. He is licensed to practice psychology and has clinical licensure for addictions. Dr. Baunoch is a retired United Methodist minister. He and his wife Betty will celebrate 49 years of marriage this year. They have three children, nine grandchildren and three great-grandsons. Dr. Baunoch serviced as an adjunct faculty member of DePaul University in Chicago, while pastoring in Northwest Indiana, for several years, where he taught ethics to computer science majors. He also served as a guest lecturer in US History at Purdue University.
Dr. Baunoch’s undergraduate work was completed at the University of Evansville where he studied Theology and Philosophy. His Master of Divinity came from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Nevertheless, his second year of three was spent at Notre Dame. His Doctor of Ministry (DMin) is from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago where he studied Pastoral Counseling. His Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree is from Graduate Theological Foundation. His major was in Family Systems Therapy studying with renown Professor Froma Walsh of the University of Chicago.
Throughout the years Dr. Baunoch has served in the pastorates. In North Indiana, he was the start up pastor for one of ten new churches established in the North Indiana Conference. When he moved into private practice, he also worked with the Samaritan Counseling Center (SCC), establishing an addictions program for SCC in Northwest Indiana called “Help and Hope”.
Dr. Baunoch is a musician and has led a number of statewide musicals in Indiana. He plays the trombone.
